Message My friend had an '03 z06 vette, and after driving it, then driving my stage 4+ Z, it seemed that the z06 really lacked the midrange torque provided by the turbo's. I think that it just has better throttle response, and more immediate power delivery due to being naturally aspirated, but lacks the pin-you-to-the-seat midrange torque...In fact the only reason that the z06 pulled away from me in a drag was added grip, better gearing, and more tope end power. He never pulled on me in a highway pull until 5000 rpm and up...below that I could easily hold next to him...even in a car thats 500 lbs heavier...The Z definitely out torques the z06 throughout most of the rpm range...excluding top end.
